INTERNAL-ONCOLOGICAL EXPERTISE. MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAMWORK FOR A MAJOR GOAL.

INTERNAL-ONCOLOGICAL REHABILITATION COMES INTO PLAY AFTER AN ACUTE ILLNESS OR SURGERY OF THE INTERNAL ORGANS OR TUMOURS THAT HAVE BEEN SURGICALLY REMOVED OR TREATED WITH CHEMOTHERAPY.

The focus of rehabilitative measures is on the patient’s well-being and restoring impaired physical functions. Wound and stoma care are as much a part of the nursing care spectrum as parenteral and enteral nutrition.

Physiotherapy increases mobility and resilience. Individual nutritional counselling and psychological support are other important components of oncological rehabilitation. Moreover, special attention is paid to planning the patient’s discharge and follow-up outpatient care.

INDICATIONS

  • Complex disorders of the internal organs
  • Serious surgery
  • Tumours after chemotherapy and/or surgery
